Privacy policy
Last updated 26 August 2026
Reelcut turns long videos into short vertical clips. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we never do with it. It applies to Reelcut and nothing else.
What we collect
- Your email address and a hashed password, so you can sign in. We never store your password itself.
- The video links you submit, and the clips we produce from them.
- Your credit balance and a record of every credit added or spent.
- Payment records from Stripe. Card numbers go to Stripe directly and never reach our servers.
- If you connect a social account: an access token, a refresh token, and your handle on that platform.
Social accounts you connect
Connecting YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or Facebook is optional and exists for one purpose: to publish clips you have chosen, to the account you have chosen. We ask only for the permissions that upload needs. We do not read your existing videos, your messages, your followers or your analytics.
- Tokens are encrypted before they are stored, and are only decrypted at the moment you publish.
- We never post anything you have not explicitly reviewed and sent.
- Disconnecting an account on the Post page deletes its tokens from our database immediately.
Data received from Google APIs is handled according to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
What we do with it
We use your data to run the service: to make the clips you ask for, to bill you correctly, and to publish where you tell us to. We do not sell it. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use your videos or clips to train any model.
Who else touches it
We use a small number of processors, each doing one job: Vercel for hosting, Neon for the database, Vercel Blob for storing rendered clips, Stripe for payments, and a speech to text and language model provider to read transcripts and suggest clip titles. Source video is downloaded to a render machine, used to produce your clips, and deleted when the job finishes.
How long we keep it
- Clips and job records stay until you delete them or close your account.
- Source video is deleted as soon as a job completes or fails.
- Credit history is kept while your account exists, because it is your billing record.
- Deleting your account removes your data within 30 days.
Your choices
You can delete any clip or job from the app at any time, disconnect any social account in one click, and ask us to delete your account and everything in it by emailing support@reelcut.app. You can also revoke access from the platform's own settings, for example your Google account permissions page.
Security
Passwords are hashed. Social tokens are encrypted at rest. Sessions use signed, http only cookies. Everything travels over HTTPS. No system is perfect, so if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.
Children
Reelcut is not for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, for anything significant, email you.
